Harmanpreet returns after injury layoff
The Women in Blue received a huge boost after skipper Harmanpreet Kaur recovered well in time for the series opener. While batting, during the first T20I against the same opponent, she was seen limping off the field and due to this Smriti Mandhana became the stand-in skipper. Harmanpreet also didn't feature in the next two T20Is owing to injury. Amol Muzumdar, who is the head coach of the women's team also emphasised that Harmanpreet would be playing in the first ODI.
She was looking in good touch as she had scored 34 runs off 23 balls, in which she had hit three fours and one six. While batting first, the hosts had posted a mammoth target of 314/9.
