IND-W vs WI-W, 1st ODI: India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur's stay at the crease was shortlived during the series opener against West Indies as she got out after scoring 33 runs off 23 balls. The match is being held in Vadodara's Reliance stadium, where Shemaine Campbelle dismissed Harmanpreet Kaur.

Harmanpreet had smashed three fours and one six and had stitched a brilliant partnership of 66 runs off 52 balls with Harleen Deol. The visitors, who did commit some unforseeable errors in the 1st ODI, didn't falter in getting the Indian captain out.

The incident happened during the 42nd over, where Campbell bowled a lengthy delivery as the ball had hit the outside off stump. The ball had touched the thick outside edge and it went towards the short third man. Fletcher dove towards her left and threw the ball towards the wicketkeeper, who then threw the ball toward the stumps. It was Ghosh, who committed the mistake of taking a quick single.

Harmanpreet couldn't reach the crease on time as she saw the ball. She was then dismissed due to a mix-up and lack of on-feet thinking and was thus seen walking back to the pavilion.

West Indies women need 315 runs to win

Smriti Mandhana was the highest run-scorer as she had scored 91 runs and fell short of a well-deserved hundred whereas Harleen Deol too was seen struggling.

Harmanpreet Kaur (34), Richa Ghosh (26), and Jemimah Rodrigues (31) made significant contributions with the bat. Zaida James was the pick among the West Indies bowlers as she registered figures of 5/45. The visitors will face a daunting task while chasing a mammoth target of 315 runs.
