India vs Afghanistan Highlights, Asian Games 2023 T20 Final: Match Called Off, Ruturaj Gaikwad-led India Clinch Historic Gold Medal

The match has been called and India won the gold medal!!!!!!!

Safe to say, Afghanistan are not coming out to bat again. It is still raining at Hangzhou. The overs have started getting lost.

The overs are surely going to be lost if the game does not start any time soon. Notably, there was already a 20-minute delay at the start.

Rain stops play here at Hangzhou. The covers have been brought out by the groundstaff.

Gulbadin Naib and Shahidullah Kamal are trying to take the total past 135. With two overs left, they have got every bit of chance to achieve it.

India need to avoid giving easy runs here to Afghanistan. Sai Kishore is bowling his 3rd over in search of a wicket.

Another one bites the dust. Afghanistan lose Karim Janat to Shahbaz Ahmed who bowled an absolute ripper. AFG 52/5 (10.5)

Karim Janat is the new batter in. He can surely hit it a long way. Indian spinners are currently controlling the run-rate well. Although, no score is safe with these kind of small boundaries.

Afsar Zazai and Shahidullah Kamal have together put on a good stand here after the fall of 3rd wicket. The run-rate has also got better (5 RPO).

The first powerplay comes to an end. Afghanistan have somehow picked up some boundaries to improve the run-rate. Shahbaz Ahmed brought into the attack.

Afghanistan are committing hara-kiri at the moment. Last thing any team wants in this situation is a run-out. Afghanistan lose another wicket. AFG 12/3 (3.2)

Wicketkeeper Mohammed Shahzad is back in the hut. After scoring a boundary, he gets a brilliant delivery from Arshdeep Singh. IND on the attack early. AFG 9/2 (2.5)

Shivam Dube gets first wicket for India as Zubaid Akbari departs early in the match. Noor Ali Zadran is the new batter in. AFG 5/1 (1.3)

Toss delayed due to wet outfield. Meanwhile, Indian cricket team can be spotted practicing on the sidelines.

Good News - It is not raining anymore here in Hangzhou. Stay tuned for the toss.

Don't go anywhere! We will back with the toss update soon.

The captain winning the toss might look to bowl first because of the overcast conditions. Before this match, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 6 wickets in a rain-truncated match as well.

India, on the other hand, are outright favourites to win the Asian Games gold medal. The top three batters - Yashasvi Jaiwal, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Tilak Varma have been in terrific form.

Afghanistan was considered a dark horse in this tournament before the start of the tournament. However, their brilliant performance against Pakistan in semi-final have given them a chance to earn a gold.
