St John's | Jagran Sports Desk: All-rounder Keemo Paul has replaced fast bowler Miguel Cummins in the West Indies' 13-member squad for the second Test against India, starting on Friday in Jamaica.
Paul, who missed the first Test due to an ankle injury, is now available for selection, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) said in a statement.
Besides, West Indies' interim selection committee has also decided to keep wicket-keeper Jahmar Hamilton with the squad. Shane Dowrich, meanwhile, has returned to Barbados to continue his rehabilitation after being ruled out of the series with an ankle injury.
Cummins went wicketless in the Test, conceding 69 runs in 20 overs across both the innings. Paul coming in is the only change in the squad with the selectors persisting with the same group despite the huge loss.
With first-choice wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich continuing his rehabilitation, Shai Hope is likely to continue keep wickets as he did in the first Test even though the selectors have included back-up 'keeper Jahmar Hamilton in the 13-member squad
The first Test match of the two-match series was won by India by 318 runs. This win was the biggest margin of victory for India in overseas Test matches. With this result, skipper Virat Kohli became the most successful Indian captain in overseas Test matches.
The series is a part of the World Test Championship and presents West Indies an opportunity to fetch their first points via a draw or a win in the second and final Test, that will commence on August 30. India have already opened their account and have 60 points following the win in Antigua.
Windies squad for the second Test: Jason Holder (c), Kraigg Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Shamarh Brooks, John Campbell, Roston Chase, Rahkeem Cornwall, Jahmar Hamilton, Shannon Gabriel, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Keemo Paul, Kemar Roach.
