Skipper Shubman Gill and B Sai Sudharsan orchestrated a spectacular display of batting prowess, each smashing brilliant centuries in a record-equalling double hundred plus opening stand, propelling Gujarat Titans to a commanding 35-run victory over Chennai Super Kings in an enthralling IPL match.

Sudharsan showcased his explosive batting style, hammering an exhilarating 103 off just 51 balls, embellished with five fours and seven sixes. Meanwhile, Gill notched up the season's first century, a sublime 104 off 55 deliveries, adorned with half a dozen sixes. Their scintillating partnership of 210 runs for the first wicket not only anchored Gujarat Titans' innings but also equalled the record previously set by Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul in 2022.

Opting to bat first, Gujarat Titans posted a daunting total of 231 for 3, setting a formidable target for Chennai Super Kings to chase. Despite a torrid start, CSK found respite in the middle overs, courtesy of Daryl Mitchell's blazing 63 off 34 balls and Moeen Ali's composed 56 off 36 deliveries. The duo stitched together a crucial 109-run partnership for the fourth wicket, keeping CSK in contention.

However, the target proved insurmountable for CSK as they were eventually restricted to 196 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs. Despite a valiant 26-run cameo from the veteran Mahendra Singh Dhoni towards the end, CSK fell short of the required total.

Mohit Sharma emerged as the standout bowler for Gujarat Titans, claiming three wickets for 31 runs, while Rashid Khan contributed with two vital wickets for 38 runs.
