SMAT 2025: Sarfaraz Khan has also registered his name for IPL 2026 auction, which will be held in Abu Dhabi, and scored a brilliant knock for Mumbai in SMAT. During their second Super League match against Haryana, he came into bat at the No.3 position while chasing a mammoth target of 235 runs and scored a knock of 64 runs off 25 balls. In his innings, he had smashed nine fours and three sixes.
He faced just 18 balls to bring up his fifty.
He was batting at a strike rate of 256 and didn't just help the team win the high-scoring match but also gained the attention of all the IPL teams just before the auction. Hailing from Mumbai, Sarfaraz had gone unsold in the mega auction last year and had registered his name at a base price of Rs 75 lakh. He has represented three IPL teams- Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Punjab Kings, and Delhi Capitals, and has scored 585 runs after playing in 37 matches.
During the ongoing tournament, he also smashed one hundred against Assam in their group stage match and then scored a gritty knock of 52 runs against Kerala.

During the must-win clash, besides Yashasvi Jaiswal, too performed brilliantly. He batted as an opener for Mumbai while chasing a target of 235 runs and had scored a hundred off 50 balls. Jaiswal, who plays for Rajasthan Royals in IPL, had hit 16 fours and one six in his knock.
He also had stitched a partnership of 53 runs with Ajinkya Rahane for the first wicket and then had built a partnership of 88 runs for the second wicket with Sarfaraz Khan.
After his dismissal, Atharva Ankolekar took the team across the line by smashing a six and a four in Samant Jakhar's over.
