India pacer Arshdeep Singh reached a major milestone on Friday, becoming the first Indian bowler to take 150 wickets in T20 International cricket.
The left-arm pacer achieved the feat during the fourth T20I against New Zealand at Eden Park in Auckland. He dismissed New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner in the penultimate over to bring up the landmark.
Arshdeep has reached 150 wickets in 103 matches and 99 innings. He has an average of 20.62 and an economy rate of 8.65, with his best figures in the format being 5/51.

Arshdeep Joins Elite List Of T20I Bowlers
With 150 wickets to his name, Arshdeep has moved to ninth place on the list of leading wicket-takers in T20I cricket. He is also only the third fast bowler to reach the 150-wicket mark, joining New Zealand’s Tim Southee and Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman.
The list is largely dominated by spinners, with Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan sitting at the top. Rashid is the only bowler to have taken 200 wickets in the format; the veteran all-rounder reached this milestone in the recently concluded T20I clash against Zimbabwe at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah.
Arshdeep Sets New Record In 2026
The Indian pacer has also set a new record for the most T20I wickets taken by a bowler representing a Full Member nation in a calendar year.
Arshdeep has picked up 40 wickets in 2026, going past Ireland’s Josh Little, who took 39 wickets in 2022. Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga, with 38 wickets in 2024, and India’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar, with 37 in 2022, complete the top four.
He has also become the third-fastest bowler to reach 150 T20I wickets in terms of deliveries bowled. Arshdeep needed 2,143 balls to get there, behind only Hasaranga (2,035) and Rashid Khan (2,098).
Arshdeep Among India’s Most Economical Bowlers
Arshdeep finished his four-over spell with figures of 1/38, conceding the fewest runs among the Indian bowlers who completed their full quota.
Glenn Phillips was the standout batter for New Zealand, smashing 107 off just 49 balls to help the hosts post 259/7 and set India a target of 260.
