The Caribbean side currently have a chance to move further up the table if they continue their winning run in the series.

How West Indies Beat Bangladesh In First Test

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat, scoring 272 runs in their first innings. Opener Shadman Islam was the standout performer with a century, scoring 105 runs.

However, left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican troubled the Bangladesh batters throughout the innings and picked up five wickets.

In reply, West Indies managed 245 runs. John Campbell and Tagenarine Chanderpaul scored half-centuries, while Justin Greaves contributed 46 runs and captain Roston Chase added 43. Off-spinner Nayeem Hasan was Bangladesh’s leading bowler with four wickets for 33 runs.

Bangladesh struggled in their second innings and were bowled out for just 142. Chase led the bowling attack with five wickets for 36 runs, while Warrican claimed four wickets for 63.

That left West Indies with a target of 170, which they chased down without much trouble. King’s unbeaten 81 and Hodge’s 31 not out ensured the visitors secured an important victory and took a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
