Australia skipper Pat Cummins reckoned that Australia has an edge over the Men in Blue in the five-match Test series. India's chances of qualifying for the WTC finals have dented after they lost the two-match Test series to New Zealand at home by 2-0. Despite them being the table topers, if India loses one or two more matches, then they will most definitely fall out of the top two.
Ahead of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the Rohit Sharma-led side have one more match to play against New Zealand at the Wankhede stadium from Friday. Cummins revealed that they will try to silence the visitors once again.
"I hope so. I think any time a team's under pressure, it's not a bad thing if you're playing against them. But they've been out here before and performed well. Our job is to try and keep them quiet, see how we go,” Cummins told reporters at the launch of his book, 'Tested' in Sydney.

"It's kind of the one big thing that I want to tick off. Particularly winning at home. Most Australians, me included, expect us to do well whenever we play at home", he revealed.
'Our team is in a really good place'
Australia first lost the Test series to India way back in 2018-19, when players like Steve Smith, David Warner, and Cameron Bancroft were all facing a ban from playing international cricket. Then during the 2020-21 series, the Pat Cummins-led side began the series on a high in Adelaide but then India bounced back brilliantly and won the series 2-1.
But Cummins exuded confidence that his team will be able to turn their tides around against the Rohit Sharma-led side.
"We've lost the (last) two series against them (in Australia), so this is a big one. We feel like our team is in a really good place, so we've got no reason why we shouldn't perform well,” he concluded.
India will lock horns with Australia in the series opener on November 22 in Perth.
