Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have added another milestone to their long list of achievements. During the second ODI against England in Cardiff, the experienced pair went past Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly to become India’s third-highest run-scoring batting partnership across all formats.

The landmark came after Shubman Gill was dismissed by Gus Atkinson in the eighth over. Kohli then joined Rohit in the middle, and the two added 60 runs for the second wicket before Rohit was dismissed in the 18th over.

That stand took Rohit and Kohli’s combined tally to 8,028 partnership runs for India across Tests, ODIs and T20Is. Their journey as a batting pair began more than 16 years ago in an ODI against South Africa in February 2010.
