West Indies captain Shai Hope appeared to take an indirect dig at Shubman Gill after his team pulled off a record chase against India in the second T20I in Ranchi on Friday. The Caribbean side chased down a target of 250 runs to win the match by six wickets and level the five-match series 1-1.

Hope was the star of the night, scoring an unbeaten 102 off just 45 balls to guide the West Indies to a memorable victory at the JSCA International Stadium. Soon after the win, the skipper took to social media and shared a post with the caption, “250? Cool”.

The caption caught attention because Gill had used a similar line after India’s victory over the West Indies in the second ODI earlier in the series.

Shai Hope Follows Shubman Gill’s Social Media Trend

Gill had posted pictures of himself with the caption “406? Cool” after his unbeaten double century helped India chase down a massive target in the second ODI against the West Indies.

The Indian batter produced a stunning knock of 223 not out off 133 balls as India registered an eight-wicket victory. His innings played a key role in the team completing the chase of 406 runs.

Hope’s latest post appears to mirror Gill’s caption, with the West Indies captain putting his own spin on it after leading his team to another memorable run chase against India.
