Shubman Gill has continued his stunning run in ODI cricket, smashing his second consecutive century against West Indies in the second ODI at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
Chasing a massive target of 406, Gill reached his hundred in just 62 balls. His explosive innings included 10 fours and five sixes as India made a strong start to the mammoth chase.
This was Gill’s 11th ODI century. He had scored 110 in the series opener as India chased down the target comfortably to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Gill breaks Virat Kohli’s Indian record
Gill’s latest century has seen him break a long-standing record held by Virat Kohli.
The India captain has reached 11 ODI centuries in just 67 innings, making him the fastest Indian batter to get to the mark. Kohli had taken 82 innings to score his first 11 ODI hundreds.
Gill’s latest milestone puts him among the fastest batters in the history of ODI cricket to reach 11 centuries.

Only two batters have reached 11 ODI centuries quicker than Gill.
South Africa’s Hashim Amla achieved the feat in 64 innings, while Quinton de Kock needed 65 innings. Gill has now reached the landmark in 67 innings, moving ahead of Pakistan’s Babar Azam, who took 71 innings.
