Rohit Sharma added another major record to his name during India’s second ODI against West Indies in Guwahati. The India opener became the first batter in the world to hit 200 sixes in ODI cricket on home soil.
India were chasing a huge target of 406 after West Indies posted 405/7 in their first innings. Rohit and Shubman Gill got India off to a flying start, with Rohit taking the attack to the West Indies bowlers from the beginning.
Rohit Sharma completes 200 ODI sixes at home
Rohit reached his half-century in only 33 balls, with his innings including five fours and four sixes. Those four maximums took his tally of ODI sixes in India to 200.

No other batter has reached the 200-six mark in home ODIs. West Indies great Chris Gayle is second on the list with 147 sixes, while New Zealand’s Martin Guptill is third with 132.

Rohit also reaches 12,000 ODI runs
The Guwahati innings brought another significant milestone for Rohit. He also completed 12,000 runs in ODI cricket, becoming only the seventh batter in history to reach the landmark.
Rohit joins an elite group of ODI run-scorers and continues to remain one of India’s most successful batters in the format.
Rohit remains ODI cricket’s biggest six-hitter
Rohit is already the leading six-hitter in ODI history. His latest four sixes took his overall tally to 376, well ahead of Shahid Afridi’s 351 and Chris Gayle’s 331.
His record-breaking six-hitting numbers extend beyond ODIs too. Rohit has smashed 665 sixes across international cricket, including Tests, ODIs and T20Is.
With the 200-six landmark and 12,000 ODI runs coming in the same innings, Rohit’s start in Guwahati added two more milestones to an already remarkable ODI career.
