U19 World Cup Final 2026: The U-19 World Cup-winning Indian team got a warm reception after coming back, as their family members and lots of fans met them on Sunday. The Men in Blue won their record sixth title after beating England by 100 runs during the summit clash.
The Ayush Mhatre-led side posted a mammoth target of 411 runs, where Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashed a match-winning knock of 175 runs off 80 balls. They skittled England out for 311 runs.
The Indian team had won the title in 2000, 2008, 2012, 2018, and 2022.

Captain Mhatre and Sooryavanshi grabbed all the limelight at Mumbai airport, whereas Abhgyam Kundu also got some attention from fans and family members.
Mhatre's whole family was waiting at the airport for him. He too had scored a brilliant knock of 53 runs off 51 balls during the summit clash.
“We as parents don’t have any words for this excitement because whatever hard work they were doing for all these years, it paid off," Yogesh Kamlakar Mhatre, Mhatre's father, said.
“I am very happy that he is bringing the World Cup to his country. He has been fond of cricket since childhood, and the hard work he has put in has borne fruit today. We will celebrate after reaching home," added Mhatre’s mother.

When Are The Celebrations?
With the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup currently taking place in India and Sri Lanka, the BCCI is expected to host a felicitation ceremony for the U-19 team in the future.
According to sources, all the players will return to their respective homes from Mumbai and will reassemble for a felicitation ceremony once announced by the BCCI.
Notably, India remained undefeated throughout the tournament, prompting the BCCI to announce a cash reward of Rs 7.5 crore for the squad.
The squad, coached by Hrishikesh Kanitkar, also defeated arch-rivals Pakistan in the Super Six stage.
