A deepfake video of India's star batter Virat Kohli criticizing youngster Shubman Gill went viral on social media. In the video, Kohli is heard saying that he is the one and only God and that Gill has a long way to go to achieve all that he has achieved.

Gill, who is one of the upcoming talented batters the country has witnessed in the last few years, is also considered the future of the Indian team. Hailing from Punjab, Gill had a brilliant last year, especially in the 50-over format, where he was the highest run-scorer as he had scored 1584 runs after playing in 29 ODI matches at an average of 63.36 and that also includes five hundreds.

In the video, Kohli said that Gill hasn't lived up to his expectations by performing consistently. The veteran also said that no one could match his levels and that he has laid a foundation for the youngsters.

"When we came back from Australia, I figured out what it takes to succeed at the highest level. I have been watching Gill closely. He is talented, no doubt. But there's a big gap between showing promise and becoming a legend. Gill's technique is solid, but let's not get ahead of ourselves", Kohli was quoted as saying in the deepfake video.

"People talk about the next Virat Kohli, but let me be clear, there's only one Virat Kohli. I have faced the toughest bowlers, delivered in the most intense situations, and done it consistently for over a decade. You can't replicate that with just a few good innings. If I make the wrong decision, I sit outside and clap all day, In Indian cricket, there's the God, and then there's me. That's the benchmark. Gill has a long way to go before reaching that level", he concluded.

Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill to be in action for India next month

At the same time, both Kohli and Gill would next be seen in action in the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh, which would be held next month. Both Gill and Kohli last played in the recently concluded ODI series against Sri Lanka, where both these batters failed to perform and thus lost the three-match series 2-0.

Shubman Gill will also be seen in action in the Duleep Trophy whereas Kohli would be giving the domestic tournament a miss.
