The renowned venue Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai is all set to host five matches during the upcoming ODI World Cup, including the World Cup semi-final and India's group stage fixture against Sri Lanka.

The ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduled to kick off on October 5, marking the 13th edition of this prestigious tournament, set to take place in India. The sporting spectacle will unfold across ten vibrant Indian cities: Ahmedabad, Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Dharamsala, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata.

Wankhede Stadium, located in the bustling city of Mumbai, stands as an iconic international cricket venue. This stadium, built in 1974 and named after the former president of the Mumbai Cricket Association, S.K. Wankhede, boasts a seating capacity of over 33,000 passionate fans.

The ground witnessed its first-ever test match against West Indies in 1975 and its inaugural ODI in 1987. The stands in the stadium are named in honour of cricket legends like Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar.

The sale of the tickets for matches to be held in Mumbai has started from early September. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially named BookMyShow as the exclusive ticketing platform, with prices starting at Rs 1000 for non-India matches, while tickets for India's clash against Sri Lanka begin at Rs 1500, and the first semi-final tickets start from Rs 2500 onwards.
