WPL 2026: Australia's star all-rounder Ellyse Perry has shared a heartwarming message for RCB before their tournament opener against the Mumbai Indians. Perry had withdrawn from this league owing to personal reasons and had thus posted a heartwarming video message for the teams and the fans on Friday.
RCB, who are the 2024 WPL champions, shared a video on their official Instagram account and wrote, “A familiar voice wishing strength and support. Perry sends her love and luck to the squad for the #WPL2026 season ahead."

In the video, Perry is seen directly talking to her teammates and the loyal RCB fans, which emphasised the bond she has built with this city over the last few years.
She might give the on-field action a miss, but she revealed that she will be watching all the matches and will be supporting them from home.
“Hey team, all the very best tonight and for all of the WPL. I hope you guys have a great time. You’ve got the best fans in the world, and I’m sure they’ll be there cheering you on, as will I from home. Go well, have a great time," Perry was heard as saying in the video.
She withdrew from WPL owing to personal reasons. RCB retained her for a whopping amount of Rs 2 crore before the auction. After playing in three seasons, she had scored 972 runs.
Perry had won the Orange Cap in 2024, where she had scored 347 runs at a staggering average of 69.40. She had also taken 14 wickets in this tournament. Perry registered the best bowling figures of 6/15 against the same opponent. She does have the skills to bat in the middle order and give the team the much-needed breakthroughs, and that's why she was RCB's most valuable player.
