Delhi Crime Branch Busts Fake Auto Parts Factory In Anand Parbat; Over 1,900 Counterfeit Filters Seized

The Crime Branch in Delhi has busted a factory manufacturing counterfeit auto parts. The factory's owner, Manmeet Singh, has been arrested in the Anand Parbat industrial area where the unit was operating. Counterfeit oil filters and other items from brands such as Bosch, Tata and JCB have been seized from the factory. Manmeet had been manufacturing and supplying counterfeit auto parts in Delhi-NCR for a year.

Delhi Crime Branch Busts Fake Auto Parts Factory In Anand Parbat; Over 1,900 Counterfeit Filters Seized

The Delhi Police Crime Branch has dismantled a factory manufacturing counterfeit oil filters sold under the guise of well-known automotive brands. The factory owner, identified as Manmeet Singh, a resident of the Anand Parbat area, has been arrested.

The Operation

The raid was initiated after Sub-Inspector Imran Khan received intelligence on December 4 regarding the manufacturing of fake auto parts in the Anand Parbat industrial area.

The Team: A joint operation was led by ACP Sanjay Kumar Nagpal and Inspectors Mangesh Tyagi and Robin Tyagi. The police team collaborated with authorized officials from Tata Motors, Bosch Limited, and JCB India.

The Raid: Acting on the tip-off, the team raided the facility and apprehended Manmeet Singh at the scene.

Seizure Details

A significant quantity of counterfeit goods and manufacturing equipment was seized during the operation:

  • 1,917 Counterfeit Oil Filters (Branded as Bosch, Tata and JCB)
  • 5 Tata Dies
  • 4 JCB Dies
  • 1 Die-Printing Machine

Packaging Materials: Stickers, holograms, and JCB-branded cardboard boxes.

Investigation And Background

According to DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, a case has been registered under the relevant provisions of the Copyright Act and the Trademark Act.

Modus Operandi: During interrogation, Manmeet Singh confessed to running this illicit operation for the past year. He sourced raw materials from various vendors, manufactured the counterfeit parts, and then supplied them back to vendors or sold them directly in the Delhi-NCR market based on demand.

Background: Manmeet Singh completed his higher secondary education in Delhi. His father was a factory worker. Singh previously manufactured local (unbranded) auto parts but shifted to producing counterfeit branded parts a year ago to increase profits.
