Delhi: Dwarka AATS Foils Gang War And Extortion Plot; Saddam Ghori Gang Member Held

The AATS of Dwarka Police has arrested Ravi, an active member of the Saddam Ghori gang and arms supplier Nishant. This action has foiled a major conspiracy involving gang wars and extortion in the capital. Police recovered two country-made pistols and live cartridges. Ravi has more than 14 cases registered against him, including attempted murder, and joined the Saddam Ghori gang while in prison.

The Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) of the Dwarka district police has foiled a conspiracy of gang war and extortion in the capital, arresting an active member of the Saddam Ghori gang and his arms supplier. The police have recovered two country-made pistols and two live cartridges from the accused. According to the DCP, special instructions were given to the AATS to crack down on active gangs in the district and criminals involved in extortion.

Arrest Details: Trap Laid And Weapon Seized

On 11 January, the AATS team laid a trap based on a tip-off and first apprehended Ravi. A country-made firearm was found in his possession. When the police interrogated him strictly, he revealed the name of Nishant, the arms supplier. Taking swift action, the police also arrested Nishant from Hastsal Road in Uttam Nagar, from whom another pistol was recovered. Meanwhile, Nishant was responsible for supplying him with weapons.

Criminal Profile: Ravi Alias Buddhi And Gang Links

The main accused, Ravi, also known as Buddhi or Jalebi, is a declared criminal of the area and has more than 14 cases registered against him, including attempted murder and robbery. According to the police, the accused Ravi is a resident of Om Vihar, Uttam Nagar, and is a habitual offender. During interrogation, the accused Ravi revealed that he came into contact with the Saddam Ghori gang while in prison. He was planning to commit a major crime in collaboration with the Saddam Ghori gang to earn easy money.

Extortion Plans And Investigation

He was planning to extort money from drug traffickers and illegal liquor sellers in the area. He had procured illegal weapons to carry out this objective. Additionally, he also used to supply illegal weapons to criminals in the Delhi NCR. The police are now trying to determine in which previous incidents these weapons have been used.
