To ensure that the upcoming Republic Day celebrations are conducted peacefully and safely, the district police have significantly tightened security arrangements. The police administration has taken strict measures to curb potential threats and the activities of anti-social elements. Police Commissioner Dr Rajshree Singh has imposed a temporary ban on aerial activities, in addition to increasing surveillance at district borders and in sensitive areas.

District Declared A Red Zone

Exercising powers under Section 24 of the amended Drone Act 2022, the Police Commissioner has declared the entire district a temporary "Red Zone." With this order in effect, there is a complete ban on the flying of drones, gliders, or paramotors by any private individual or institution within the district.

Details of the Ban:

Effective Time: From 9:00 AM on January 23, 2026.

Duration: For the next 96 hours (until the conclusion of January 26).

Prohibited Equipment: All types of drones, micro-light aircraft, paragliders, and paramotors.

Security Agencies On High Alert

Police Commissioner Dr Rajshree Singh emphasised that maintaining law and order during the auspicious occasion of Republic Day is the police's top priority. Consequently:

All Station House Officers (SHOs), police post in-charges, and crime investigation teams have been directed to keep a strict vigil on suspicious activities.

Strict punitive action will be taken under legal provisions against anyone violating these orders.

According to the order, this ban is mandatory for the general public and private events. However, police personnel and government officials engaged in security and surveillance duties will be permitted to fly drones under special circumstances.

Commissioner’s Appeal to the Public Jhajjar Police Commissioner Dr Rajshree Singh stated that Republic Day is a symbol of national pride. She appealed to citizens to cooperate with the police in maintaining the dignity and security of the occasion. She urged the public to immediately inform the nearest police station or control room if they spot any suspicious object or activity. The police will deal strictly with anyone found violating these rules.
