With the festive season approaching, the Delhi Fire Department has ramped up preparations to tackle potential fire incidents during Diwali. Around 321 fire vehicles will be deployed across all 66 fire stations in the capital on Sunday and Monday to ensure quick response and safeguard lives and property.

Authorities have identified 41 sensitive locations across Delhi where fire engines and Quick Response Vehicles (QRVs) will be stationed. Seventeen locations will have fire engines, while 24 will be covered by QRVs, which are specially designed to navigate narrow lanes and respond swiftly to emergencies.

Fire engines will be stationed at key areas, including Baratooti Chowk, Tilak Nagar, Lajpat Nagar Central Market, Lal Kuan Chowk, Lahori Gate, South Extension, Sonia Vihar, DTC Depot Katran Market, Mangolpuri, Gandhi Nagar Market, Mahipalpur Chowk, Sangam Vihar, Mundka Metro Station, Azad Market Chowk, Jaipur Golden Hospital, New Ashok Nagar Police Station (Mayur Vihar Phase-3), Yamuna Vihar, and Radha Swami Satsang Bhati Khadan.

QRVs will cover narrow lanes in areas such as Hastsala Gaon, Vishal Garden Najafgarh Road, PVR, DDA Complex Vikaspuri, Mehrauli, Dera Gaon Mod, Maidangarhi, Ghitorni Metro Station, Badli Industrial Area, Sant Nagar Burari Main Chowk, Adarsh Nagar, Azadpur Terminal, Wazirpur Gaon, Swaroop Nagar, Lajpat Nagar Central Market, Sonia Vihar near Sabhapur Gaon, Gandhi Nagar Market, Main Bazar Paharganj, Alipur Police Station, Khari Baoli, Sadar Bazar Delhi Cantt, Rani Bagh Market, Nangloi Police Station, Pul Bangash Azad Market, and Palam Golchakkar Dwarka.

All firefighters’ leave has been cancelled to ensure adequate staffing during the festival. Senior officials have urged citizens to celebrate safely by minimising the use of firecrackers, opting for diyas (earthen lamps) or other decorative items, and participating in community events. Residents are also advised to immediately report any fire-related accidents to the department.
