Delhi Metro News: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has ramped up security arrangements at all metro stations in the national capital until January 29, 2026. During this period, security checks at every station will be more detailed and stringent compared to regular days. This means bag scans and frisking will take longer than usual, so expect some extra wait time at entrances.
Making a post on X, DMRC issued a commuter advisory, informing passengers that the enhanced checking process may lead to extra time at entry points and baggage scanning. The rail corporation has urged commuters to plan their journeys in advance and allow some extra travel time to avoid any inconvenience.

The metro administration further appealed to passengers to maintain patience and discipline while standing in queues during checks. Cooperating with the security personnel's instructions will ensure the process runs smoothly.
The measure is part of routine heightened vigilance observed during special occasions and sensitive periods, such as the recent 77th Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2026.
These measures are temporary and should ease up after January 29.
