Delhi Police Launches Operation Kavach 10.0 To Ensure Public Safety; Seize Liquor, Drugs

Following the arrival of the new Police Commissioner, East Delhi Police has cracked down on criminals. Under Operation Kavach 10.0, 36 offenders have been arrested. Police have registered 33 cases under the Arms Act, the Gambling Act, and for smuggling.

Following the arrival of the new Police Commissioner, the East Delhi Police have intensified their crackdown on criminal activities, launching campaigns under new initiatives across Delhi. 

On Saturday and Sunday, Operation Kavach 10.0 targeted smugglers, bookies, and other offenders, resulting in the arrest of 36 criminals and registration of 33 cases under various laws, including the Arms Act, NDPS Act, and Gambling Act.

According to East Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Dhaniya, the operation aimed to make the city safer for the general public. Among the arrests, 10 liquor smugglers were caught and 1,206 quarter bottles of liquor recovered, 4 individuals were booked under the Arms Act, 7 accused under the NDPS Act with 197.5 grams of cannabis seized, and 15 individuals under the Gambling Act. Additionally, 97 people were apprehended for consuming alcohol in public.

The police also interrogated 1,678 suspects, fined 227 people for selling tobacco products without permits, and questioned 114 proclaimed offenders. The operation covered the entire Delhi, with intensive questioning of the accused and suspects.

DCP Dhaniya emphasised that the campaign will continue, with strict vigilance maintained over liquor smugglers, drug traffickers, bookies, and other criminals to ensure justice and public safety.
