Delhi Air Pollution: Air quality in the national capital continued to deteriorate, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) touching a ‘severe’ level of 414 at  am on Tuesday, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Delhi airport and major airlines issued passenger advisories, while several trains were delayed. Several areas across the city slipped into the ‘severe’ category as pollution levels worsened.

Residents across Delhi-NCR also woke up to cold and foggy conditions, with the minimum temperature hovering around 11 Degree Celsius, further reducing visibility. A thick blanket of toxic smog enveloped large parts of the city, triggering health complaints such as sore throat, blocked nose and breathing discomfort.

Delhi Airport Advisory 

Delhi airport issued an advisory in which it said that flight operations are currently being conducted under CAT III conditions due to dense fog, which may result in delays or disruptions. The airport authorities added that they are working closely with all stakeholders to minimise inconvenience to passengers and advised travellers to check the latest flight status with their respective airlines.

Delhi Weather 

Amid an ongoing cold wave in North India, Delhi continues to witness a drop in temperatures, with the minimum hovering around 11 Degree Celsius, bringing a sharp morning chill. The Meteorological Department has forecast moderate to dense fog across Delhi-NCR through December 28. Although skies may clear briefly during the day on December 24, low visibility is expected to persist during mornings and late evenings, urging commuters and drivers to remain cautious.
