Delhi Weather Friday: The national capital, Delhi, woke up to sudden and short spells of rainfall with strong breezes, intensifying the winter chills amid improved Air quality in the city. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert in its weather nowcast for rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds in several areas of Delhi on Friday morning.
Contrary to the persistent air quality issues, Delhi experienced an improvement in air quality at 7 am on Friday, with a reading of 297 in the ‘poor’ category, according to Central Pollution Control Board data.
Delhi Weather Today: Alert For Rain, Thunderstorms
The IMD has issued an orange alert in the nowcast for parts of Delhi, anticipating light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and wind at a speed of 40 to 60 kmph. The nowcast issued at 7 am is valid till 10 am on Friday.
As per the full-day weather forecast, the city is likely to experience cloudy skies with a few spells of light to moderate rain in the forenoon hours and towards the evening. Shallow fog is also expected in the morning hours. However, the minimum temperature is likely to rise with an 11 to 13 degrees Celsius forecast.
Delhi Weather Forecast: Temp Dip Expected, Cloudy Skies To Remain
- The weather forecast for Delhi predicts a slight dip in the minimum temperature to a range of 6-8 degrees on Saturday and 5 to 7 degrees on Sunday.
- On Saturday, generally cloudy skies with winds at 20-30 kmph are expected amid shallow to moderate fog in the morning hours.
- On Sunday, the sky is likely to remain partly cloudy with similar weather conditions as on Saturday.
- Delhi is expected to witness generally to partly cloudy skies with shallow to moderate fog in the morning hours till January 28. Meanwhile minimum temperature is expected to increase.
