Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal once again appealed to the people of the country on Tuesday to come forward and help flood-affected Punjab. Punjab is facing its worst floods in 37 years.

Kejriwal announced that all AAP MPs, Rajya Sabha members, and MLAs will donate one month's salary to the Punjab Chief Minister's Relief Fund. He also urged the general public to generously contribute to this noble cause.

In a video message shared on the party's official X handle, AAP's national convener Kejriwal described Punjab as a state that has always provided food to the entire country and has stood at the forefront during times of national crisis.

He said, "Whenever the country was attacked, Punjab was hit first. When there was a food crisis in the country, Punjab always helped the nation. But today, Punjab is in crisis itself."

Kejriwal said that in this difficult time, the country should provide all possible help to the people of Punjab. He stated that the scale of this devastation is unprecedented, with more than 1,000 villages submerged and over 250,000 people displaced. Thousands of acres of crops have been destroyed, leaving many families without a livelihood.

Kejriwal said that this is not a normal flood. Punjab has faced such a disaster after 37 years, where people's lifelong savings and earnings have been washed away. He also praised the courage and spirit of the people of Punjab, who, despite losing their homes and jobs, are helping their neighbors in need.
