Candidates securing 120 marks out of 150 will be considered a good score in CTET 2026 examination. The passing marks for general category are 90, and SC/ ST/ OBC are 82 out of 150. Aspirants obtaining more than the 100 marks are considered good scorers. 

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the re-exam on March 1, 2026 for Paper 2 for two centres of Bihar where the exam was postponed. Due to some technical glitches, CTET Paper 2, scheduled on February 7, 2026 was cancelled at two centres in Bihar.

Once the provisional answer key PDF is released, the following details will be mentioned on it. 

• Exam name

• Paper name

• Set name

• Question numbers

• Correct answer option for all questions

Candidates have to pay Rs 1000 for each objection. The payment has to be done via online payment modes such as debit/credit/UPI/net banking through the official website at ctet.nic.in. If the challenge is accepted, the fee will be refunded to the concerned candidates. Only online submissions with valid proof are accepted. 

Once CBSE releases the CTET 2026 answer key, candidates must visit the official portal to download the answer key PDFs for both papers using their login credentials. For self-verification, response sheets and CTET OMR will also be available for download. 

CBSE will provide Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) eligibility certificates and marksheets to all qualified candidates. These will be uploaded in Digital format in their Digilicker account. The marksheets and eligibility certificates will be digitally signed and will be legally valid as per the IT Act.

Along with the answer key, CBSE will also release the candidates’s response sheet and question paper PDFs.

Step 1: Go to the official website at ctet.nic.in.

Step 2: Click on the “Archive” link.

Step 3: Under it, select the “Question Paper February 2026” link.

Step 4: Choose the paper and sets.

Step 5: The PDFs will be shown on the screen. Download the question paper PDF and cross check your answers. 

As per the authorities, there is no maximum limit to appear for the CBSE CTET examination. If a candidate appeared and qualified the CTET exam, he/she can again sit for the exam to improve their scores.  

The qualifying marks for male and female candidates are the same for the CBSE CTET exam 2026. General category candidates need 90 out of 150, while SC/ST/OBC candidates require 82 out of 150 marks. For qualification, candidates must obtain more than or equal to the qualifying marks. 

After the closure of the objection window, the experts will examine the objections and challenges received. The final answer key will then be prepared incorporating changes if required. Based on the CTET final answer key, the results will be declared. In case the challenges are legit and accepted by the experts, the objection fee will be refunded to the concerned candidates after the results are declared. 

Some private unaided schools may appoint teachers based on academic qualifications such as graduation, postgraduation and B.Ed degrees, particularly for higher classes, even if CTET is not cleared.

CBSE has not yet officially announced the release date and time of CTET Answer Key 2026. But it is expected to be released soon.

General category candidates must secure 60 per cent (90 out of 150 marks) to qualify, while SC, ST, OBC and PwD candidates require 55 per cent (82 marks) as per prescribed norms.

The CTET answer key is released in two phases- Provisional and Final. The CTET provisional answer key is released soon after the conduct of the exam to invite objections from candidates. The CTET final answer key is released after the analysis of objections.

Candidates will get a chance to challenge the answer key of the CTET February session exam if there is discrepancies in it. On February 7, a glitch occurred during the second paper of the CTET 2026 exam in Vaishali, Bihar. The paper arrived late at the St. John's Examination Center in Vaishali, arriving only at 11 a.m., forcing the cancellation of exams at two centers. The CBSE issued a statement regarding the cancellation of CTET Paper 2, stating that the exam was almost completely successful except for the glitches at the two centers in Vaishali.

-The CTET qualifying marks for the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories are 55 per cent.

-The SSC & ST categories candidates need to obtain 82 out of the total 150 marks.
