Kerala School Holiday Tomorrow: In the wake of the lndian Meteorological Department's red alert in the district, District Collector D.R. Meghasree, who is also the Chairperson of the District Disaster Management Authority, has declared a holiday for educational institutions on August 5.

The holiday is applicable to institutions including religious studies classes, tuition centres, coaching classes, and special classes. Residential schools and residential colleges, however, can continue to operate as usual, since students there do not need to travel through the district's affected routes during the holiday period.

Travel Restrictions In Thamarassery And Palchuram:

The District Collector informed that the public should be extremely cautious as there is a warning of heavy rain, and that traffic restrictions will be imposed in Thamarassery Churam and Palchuram. Travel through the passes should be limited to essential situations only, given the risk posed by continuous heavy rainfall in these ghat sections.

Advisory For Students And Parents:

The district administration has appealed to residents, especially students and parents, to be extremely cautious during travel, avoid non-essential trips through the affected passes, and stay updated through official district announcements.
