KVS Admissions 2026-27 Open: The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has announced the admission schedule for the  Bal Vatika 1, 2, Bal Vatika 3 and Class 1 in Kendriya Vidyalas across the country. Applications for admission to these classes will be accepted from March 20th till April 2, 2026. 

Parents and guardians anxious to enroll their children to over 1, 250 KVS across the country must complete the admission process before the last date. The process is entirely digital aiming for transparency and accessibility.

KVS Admission 2026-27: Steps To Apply

Here’s how you can apply for admission to KVs across the country.

Step1: Go to the official website at kvsangathan.nic.in.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the admission link.

Step 3: Open the registration form and fill in the mandatory fields. Upon submission, a unique registration number will be generated.

Step 4: Login using the credentials provided and complete the remaining fields.

Step 5: Select up to three preferred Kendriya Vidyalayas in order of priority.

Step 6: Upload mandatory documents and submit the form. 

KVS Admission 2026-27: Documents Required

Here is the list of documents required for the KVS admissions.

  • Child’s recent passport-size photograph (JPEG, max 256KB).

  • Child’s birth certificate issued by a competent authority.

  • Proof of residence (Aadhaar card, electricity bill, etc.).

  • Caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL), if applicable.

  • Parents’ service certificate/transfer details (for priority category applicants).

KVS Selection Process: Lottery System For Class 1

KVS does not conduct any written exam or interview for admission to Class 1. Based on a computerized lottery system, the seats will be allotted. It will be followed by a category framework. As per the reservation policy, 25% of the total seats will be reserved for the economically weaker sections under the Right to Education (RTE) Act. 

Additionally, reservations are in place for SC (15%), ST (7.5%), and OBC (27%) categories. Priority is given to children of transferable central government employees, defense personnel, and ex-servicemen.
