NEET UG Re-Exam 2026 LIVE Updates: Visibly injured student denied entry after reaching late

Two students were denied entry to a NEET-UG 2026 re-examination centre after arriving late. One candidate's family said they were delayed after meeting with an accident en route to the examination centre.

Amir Qadri, uncle of one of the aspirants, said his nephew received first aid following the accident, but despite reaching the centre afterwards, authorities refused entry as the examination had already commenced.

"While on our way to the examination centre, we met with an accident and got a bit late... Now that we have reached here, we are being denied entry."

Officials reportedly cited exam rules, stating that entry could not be permitted after the examination had begun.

Bus services across Mumbai continued to face severe disruptions for the third consecutive day as employees of the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking remained on strike. The agitation, led by the BEST Sanyukt Kamgar Kruti Samiti, has affected the city's public transport network since Friday.

 

Amid the strike, BEST officials deployed more than 100 special buses to assist candidates appearing for the NEET re-examination. With regular services impacted, commuters have been relying on suburban trains, Metro services, taxis and autorickshaws for travel.

NEET Re-Exam 2026 Live: NTA Deploys 1.38 Lakh CCTV Cameras, Over 51k Signal Jammers Across Centres

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has implemented extensive security measures for the NEET UG 2026 re-exam being conducted across 5,440 centres in 551 cities in India and 14 overseas locations. More than 95,000 examination rooms have been brought under CCTV surveillance.
