Lucknow School Holiday Tomorrow: All schools from Class 1 to 12 in Lucknow and Ghaziabad will remain closed on Friday, October 30, 2026, due to the second phase of the UP PET 2026 examination. The holiday has been declared for the exam, which will be held in two shifts across the district. Schools in Prayagraj for Classes 6 to 12 will remain closed tomorrow in view of the PET Exam 2026.
The same holiday applies to schools in other districts of Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UPSSSC) will conduct the Preliminary Eligibility Test, with Lucknow hosting 45 examination centres for the second phase.
Exam Schedule and Candidate Numbers
UPSSSC PET 2026 Second Stage Exam Will Be Conducted In Two Slots On October 30. The first slot will be held between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM, and the second slot will be conducted between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM. The total number of aspirants who will appear in both slots at the centres in Lucknow is approximately 20,000 per shift.

Candidates need to visit the designated centres prior to the exam. Candidates should have their admit card along with a valid original identity proof such as Aadhaar card or voter ID.

Holiday Order Issued by Administration
District Inspector of Schools Devendra Kumar Pandey issued the holiday order after approval from District Magistrate Vishakh G. The one-day academic holiday applies to all government, aided and recognised self-financed schools in Lucknow, across all boards, including both government and private institutions.
UP PET Examination To Be Held At 45 centers
The Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) is scheduled for October 25, October 30, and November 1. In Lucknow, 45 centers have been designated for the examination. The test will be held in two shifts, with approximately 20,000 candidates expected to appear in each shift. The arrival of candidates, accompanied by their guardians, is likely to lead to increased crowding in the city.

Ghaziabad Schools Closed on October 30 for PET 2026 Exam
All schools in Ghaziabad will remain closed on October 30 due to the PET 2026 written examination. The District Inspector of Schools has declared a one-day educational holiday. Schools affiliated with UP Board, CBSE, ICSE and recognised by the Basic Education Department will also remain closed.
