UP Teacher Recruitment 2026: Preparations for teacher recruitment in Uttar Pradesh's aided secondary schools have gained momentum. Secondary Education Director Pratap Singh Baghel has confirmed that requisition for a total of 21,252 posts covering TGT, PGT and associated primary teacher positions was uploaded on the NIC's e-requisition portal on Monday. This includes 17,740 TGT posts, 2,615 PGT posts, and 897 associated primary posts, all sent to the UP Shiksha Sewa Chayan Aayog. Pressure has been mounting on related departments to send vacancy details promptly so that long-pending teacher recruitments can move forward without further delay.
TGT-PGT Recruitment to Be Prioritised First
UP Shiksha Sewa Chayan Aayog Chairman Dr. Prashant Kumar has already clarified that recruitment advertisements will be issued as vacancy information reaches the commission from departments. According to sources, the commission is preparing to first initiate the recruitment process for TGT-PGT and related posts, followed later by principal and headmaster posts.
This indicates the commission will proceed in a phased manner rather than starting recruitment for all 23,899 posts simultaneously, with TGT-PGT candidates likely getting the first opportunity.

When Can the Recruitment Notification Be Expected?
With the requisition now uploaded, the process has moved forward, and the commission may begin verifying vacant posts at its end.
