UPSC CSE Mains Interview 2025: The Commission has rescheduled the Personality Test for the CSE examination 2025. The postponement comes amid administrative adjustments linked to Republic Day preparations. Earlier, the interview was scheduled for January 22, 2026. This change in the interview schedule was necessary because of the complete dress rehearsal for the Republic Day Parade 2026, which will result in the early closure of offices that day.
The official notice quoted, "The Personality Test of the candidates of CSME-2025, which was scheduled to be held on 22.01.2026 (Afternoon Session), has now been rescheduled on Friday, 27.02.2026 (Forenoon Session) due to the early closure of office on 22.01.2026 on account of Full dress rehearsal for Republic Day Parade,2026."
UPSC CSE Mains Interview 2025: New Schedule

In the recent updates, the UPSC has also confirmed that candidates attending the Personality Test will have their travel expenses reimbursed. However, the reimbursement is restricted to second-class and sleeper-class train fares, in accordance with the existing guidelines.
Additionally, as per the UPSC examination timeline, the CSE exam 2026 will be held on May 24, 2026. The announcement for the preliminary examination, which was originally planned to be released on January 14, has been delayed due to administrative reasons.
