Telangana Election Results 2023 Highlights: Congress Pulls Resounding Victory With 64 Seats; BRS Concedes Defeat As KCR Resigns Quietly

Telangana Election Results 2023 Live Vote Counting Updates: Congress stormed to power in Telangana as the party won 64 seats in the 119-member state Assembly, defeating the incumbent Bharat Rashtra Samithi.
As per the official information available from the Election Commission of India at 10 pm, the Congress had won 64 seats whereas, BRS won 38 and was leading on 1. BJP won eight seats. Owaisi’s AIMIM won six seats and was leading on 1. CPI had to settle for just one seat.
The new government is likely to be sworn in on December 4 or December 9, according to a press release by Telangana Police.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief Revanth Reddy, who is probable Congress CM face, won the election from the Kodangal Assembly constituency by a huge margin. Revanth Reddy defeated BRS sitting MLA Patnam Narender Reddy by 32,800 votes. However, he and incumbent CM KCR lost to Venkata Ramana Reddy of BJP on the Kamareddy seat.
The counting of votes across 119 constituencies began at 8 AM today. Voting in Telangana Assembly Election 2023 was held in a single phase on November 30.
According to the Election Commission of India, Telangana recorded a 71.34 per cent voter turnout. The Munugode Assembly constituency recorded the highest 91.89 per cent voter turnout while the Yakutpura segment recorded the lowest with 39.64 per cent.
