Sreeleela made her acting debut with the Kannada film 'Kiss' in 2019, where she portrayed the lead role opposite actor Viraat. Despite being a newcomer, the actress, who primarily works in Telugu and Kannada cinema, garnered praise for her performance and received positive feedback from audiences and critics alike. Subsequently, Sreeleela appeared in Telugu films such as 'Pelli SandaD' (2021) and 'Dhamaka' (2022). However, her films in 2023 and 2024, including 'Skanda,' 'Aadikeshava,' 'Extra Ordinary Man,' and 'Guntur Kaaram,' faced both critical and commercial setbacks. As a result, her popularity among fans and within the industry has dwindled.

According to reports, the decreasing demand for Sreeleela in the industry might result in her replacement in Vijay Devarakonda's 12th film directed by Gautham Tinnanuri. Previously, there were rumours of Rashmika Mandanna stepping in as her replacement, but those speculations were quickly dismissed. Earlier reports suggested that Tripti Dimri or Rukmini Vasanth could potentially replace Sreeleela. However, the Animal actress' unavailability and her salary requirements rendered her unsuitable for the role.

Sreeleela's work front

In 2024, Sreeleela starred alongside Mahesh Babu in the film Guntur Kaaram. Directed and written by Trivikram Srinivas and produced by S. Radha Krishna through Haarika & Hassine Creations, the movie is an Indian Telugu-language action drama. Alongside Mahesh Babu and Sreeleela, the cast includes Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishna, Jayaram, Jagapathi Babu, Sunil, and Rao Ramesh.

Thaman S composed the film's score and soundtrack, while Manoj Paramahamsa handled cinematography, and Naveen Nooli managed editing. Guntur Kaaram hit theaters worldwide on January 12, 2024, coinciding with Sankranti. The film received negative to mixed reviews from critics and failed to perform well at the box office, being considered a commercial disappointment.

Soon after this, Sreeleela has opted to pause her acting career to prioritise her studies. She intends to re-enter the industry after finishing her education and identifying engaging projects to collaborate on.
