Prabhas and Kriti Sanon-starrer 'Adipurush' has finally been released in theatres after much delay. The movie's teaser received a lot of backlash for its VFX and the makers decided to push the release date by six months. The visual effects of 'Adipurush' has been supervised by Prasad Sutar, who has over 25 years of experience in the film industry.
Meet Prasad Sutar, The Man Behind 'Adipurush' VFX
Prasad Sutar has worked on several hit Bollywood films like 'Don 2', 'Bajirao Mastani', 'Tanhaji', among others and he also won a Filmfare Award for Best Visual Effects for 'Tanhaji'. Sutar began his company called NY VFXWaala in collaboration with Ajay Devgn’s production house and partnered with VFX supervisor Naveen Paul.
Sutar is involved with 'Adipurush' individually and NY VFXWaala issued an official statement that they have not worked on 'CG/Special Effects' of Adipurush.
In an interview with Indian Today, Prasad Suttar revealed how the movie improved its VFX after trolling. “We can't change things completely. The basic challenge that remained after the reaction was to re-correct the characters in the animation. We fine-tuned it. In the little time that we got, we only worked towards improving things. We are making it more real,” he said.
After the release of its teaser, 'Adipurush' faced criticism due to its poor VFX and portrayal of Ramayana. Kriti defended her film and said, "As Om Raut, my director has mentioned in the note that was brought out, it is a film that we all are extremely proud of. It is a film which is of grand canvas; it is a part of our history and is extremely important. It needs to be put out in the right way and in the best possible way because that’s what he (Om) also had envisioned."
'Adipurush' will release on June 16, 2023. The movie stars Prabhas and Kriti Sanon as Raghava and Janaki respectively. Saif Ali Khan will be seen as Lankesh, Sunny Singh as Lakshman and Devdatta Nage as Bajrang.
