New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam’s ‘Bala’ is riding high on success. In just a week of its release, the film has surpassed the Rs 75 crore mark in India, similar to what his previous film Dream Girl had made in seven days.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the Box Office collection of Bala on twitter. “#Bala is steady... Biz should gather momentum on [second] Sat and Sun... Multiplexes should witness substantial growth, taking it closer to ₹ 100 cr mark... [Week 2] Fri 3.76 cr. Total: ₹ 76 cr. #India biz,” he said in a tweet.
This comes a day after Ayushmann shared that the film has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide. The movie is Ayushmann’s third hit of the year 2019. It is also his consecutive seventh hit in a span of three years.
Bala has many records to its name as it went on to become his biggest opener with first-day collections of Rs 10.15 crore.
Earlier, clearing the standards of the censor board, 'Bala' also became the 35-year-old actor's first to be released in Saudi Arabia on Thursday, November 14.
The movie revolves around Bala (played by Ayushmann) who is worried about his receding hairline. Bala suffers from the condition of premature bald and the movie revolves around his love life struggles and how he gets demotivated because of his looks.
The movie also features Yami Gautam as a small town TikTok star named Pari Mishra while Bhumi Pednekar plays a dark-skinned girl in the film. It also features Javed Jaffrey, Saurabh Shukla, Seema Pahwa, Abhishek Banerjee, Dheerendra Kumar Gautam, Varun Shashi Rao and Deepika Chikhalia.
The film is helmed by 'Stree' director Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan.
