New Delhi | Jagran Entertainment Desk: The third installment of much-awaited Salman Khan-starrer Dabangg hit the silver screens today and like the previous versions of the film, the third part of Dabangg was liked by the audience a lot. The story of the film revolves around the backstory of what made the larger-than-life, lovable cop Chulbul Pandey the Robinhood Pandey for his people.
In the film, Chulbul Pandey was shown living a normal life, romancing with his wife Rajjo (Sonakshi Sinha), troubling his brother Makkhi (Arbaaz Khan) and fighting the local goons. The first half of the film mainly showed the younger Chulbul Pandey, his love interest – the beautiful and naive Khushi (Saiee Manjerekar) – and the circumstances that turned him into an angry cop to become the Robinhood Panday.
However, Chulbul’s life took a U-turn after he busted a prostitution racket and freed a dozen girls from the captivity of the trafficking kingpin. Chulbul’s crackdown on the prostitution racket angered the main villain of the film Balli (Kichcha Sudeep). An encounter between the hero and the villain leads the audience into the past, where Chulbul’s love story with Khushi faced unwarranted wrath from Balli, as the goon too falls for the heroine. What transpires between these characters builds the story further.
Talking about the acting of the stars in the film, Salman Khan, as usual, was loved by the audience, irrespective of his acting. While the story is clearly predictable, in this one again, Salman’s star power, swag, and style remain intact. His shirtless scene, flaunting his well-toned, chiseled body took the audience with a storm.

While Saiee Manjerekar performed well as a debutant, Sonakshi as Rajjo has done justice to her role despite a limited approach of her role as only a loving and doting wife. Arbaaz too played his role as Makhhi well.
The antagonist Sudeep, has done enough justice to his role as a baddie, who is out to make Chulbul’s life miserable. The South actor has a great screen presence, which makes the face-offs between Chulbul and him impactful and entertaining.
The film, with a runtime of 2 hours and 42 minutes, seems very long and could have done with a tighter edit. The narrative is also interrupted by a long line-up of songs, of which, the memorable ones are 'Munna Badnam Hua' and the title track.

Overall, Dabangg 3 has all the ingredients required for a massy masala entertainer. The comedy scenes are well placed in between the high-octane fighting scenes. However, the film lacks in some parts as the story of the film is highly predictable and seems very long and the story is also interrupted by a long line-up of songs. But the scenes where Salman throws comedy in hardcore action scenes are unmissable. The way he handled the villains in the film with chants of Hud Hud Dabangg in the background will surely be a paisa-vasool for the audience.
