About Emergency
Set in 1975, Kangana Ranaut's story of Emergency offers a glimpse into a period marked by significant social and political change.
The political drama centers on Indira Gandhi, one of India's most powerful and divisive leaders, as she manages the 21-month Emergency, which is frequently regarded as one of the most difficult periods in the nation's history. Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films are producing the movie. Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman and Satish Kaushik play important roles in the movie in addition to main actress Kangana Ranaut.
Despite being a political play, Kangana Ranaut clarified in 2021 that "Emergency" is not a biopic of Indira Gandhi. In the film, the former prime minister is the subject of one of the most contentious and important eras in modern Indian history.
