Actor Aamir Khan and singer Arijit Singh have landed in controversy after being accused of entering a government college in West Bengal without official permission late at night. The incident reportedly took place at Rani Dhanya Kumari Government College in Jiaganj, Murshidabad district, and has sparked debate over celebrity privilege and the use of public institutions. The matter came to light after the college principal, Ajoy Adhikari, shared CCTV footage on social media, alleging unauthorised entry by the two celebrities and their team.

According to the principal, CCTV visuals show Aamir Khan and Arijit Singh arriving at the college campus at around 1:05 am on February 4. The footage reportedly captures nearly 20 people entering the premises on around ten motorcycles. The visuals, later shared by Bengali media outlet Satya Darpan, show the group stopping near the college’s indoor games hall. The principal claimed that the visitors stayed on campus for over an hour. He alleged that the group played badminton, conducted a shoot, and left around 2:25 am, without any prior approval from college authorities.

In a strongly worded statement, Principal Ajoy Adhikari questioned the intent behind the visit and raised concerns about misuse of a government educational institution. He said, "My question is: At such a late hour, without informing the college (permission aside), they clearly did not come for social or personal reasons. They came for commercial purposes and used the college premises without authorization, even influencing the local night guard. Just because they are famous, can they do whatever they want? Are government educational institutions to be treated with such disregard?" His remarks triggered a wider discussion online about whether celebrities should be held to the same standards as ordinary citizens.

Following the backlash, Adhikari deleted the CCTV videos from his Facebook account. He later claimed that he was “forced” to remove the posts. In a subsequent Facebook post written in Bengali, the principal expressed disappointment over the public reaction. He said he was shocked that even after deleting the post, people continued to pass judgement without considering ethics. He added that many individuals were making “baseless and unrealistic allegations” while blindly supporting those they personally admired.

As of now, neither Aamir Khan nor Arijit Singh has issued an official statement regarding the allegations. The incident reportedly occurred days before Aamir Khan visited Arijit Singh’s residence in Jiaganj.
