The upcoming romantic drama ‘Ek Din’ has already created a massive buzz before its release. Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, the film features Aamir Khan's son Junaid Khan and popular South actress Sai Pallavi. Recently, news about Arijit Singh leaving background music assignments in 2026 triggered retirement speculations. In this scenario, the release of the emotional title track of ‘Ek Din’ featuring Arijit has turned out to be one of the biggest takeaways.
Arijit Singh And Aamir Khan Team Up For New Song Ek Din
The title track is a strong collaboration between Aamir Khan and Arijit Singh. Aamir Khan’s recent visit to Jiaganj in Murshidabad district, West Bengal, which is Arijit Singh’s hometown, went viral. It was believed that he was convincing the singer not to retire.
However, the behind-the-scenes videos showed that the visit was only for creative purposes. In a funny moment, Aamir Khan also told Arijit Singh that Bollywood would not be the same without his voice.

In the video, Aamir Khan is seen saying, “You are not taking any project. So, sometimes you want to take a break, or you are not staying for Hindi films?” Aamir added, “Aise mat kar yar, humlog ka kya hoga.” To this, Arijit Singh is seen laughing and saying Nahi Sir (no sir). The outcome of this meeting was the soulful title track that defines the emotional core of the film.

The romantic song Ek Din is written by Ram Sampath and Irshad Kamil. The song is a reflection of the theme of finding extraordinary love in ordinary moments.
The movie, directed by Sunil Pandey, has glimpses of Murshidabad’s local culture in the song. The movie has village food and chess games, adding to the warmth of the story. The movie also marks a reunion of Aamir with Mansoor Khan, who has directed classics such as Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. Ek Din is expected to hit the screens on May 1, 2026.
