Alpha Release Date: The upcoming Bollywood spy thriller Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, has reportedly seen another change in its release schedule. The movie is the latest addition to the Yash Raj Films (YRF) Spy Universe. It was originally set to hit cinema screens on July 10, 2026. However, new reports suggest that the producers are moving the release date forward to July 3, 2026.
This decision has been made to avoid a major clash at the box office. Two massive movies are scheduled to release around the same time. The first is Christopher Nolan’s highly awaited Hollywood project, The Odyssey, and the second is the Ajay Devgn comedy, Dhamaal 4. Both of these films are set to arrive in theatres on July 17, 2026.
Alia Bhatt-Sharvari's Alpha Release Date Changed Again?
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, moving the movie forward by one week gives Alpha a much safer environment to perform well. The report stated, “July 3 has emerged as an apt date to bring Alpha to cinemas since Dhamaal 4, which was scheduled to release on the same day, has now been pushed to July 17. With no major release planned for July 3, producer Aditya Chopra felt it was the right date to bring Alpha to theatres.”
The report further stated, “Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is also releasing on July 17, along with Dhamaal 4. As a result, Alpha will now get two weeks to make the most of an open run at the box office, especially since no Bollywood film is scheduled to hit theatres on July 10.”
By choosing this new slot, Alpha will be neatly sandwiched between Akshay Kumar's Welcome to the Jungle on 29 June and the big releases on July 17, 2026. This gives the female-led spy movie a clear two-week solo run.

Directed by Shiv Rawail, who previously directed The Railway Men, Alpha serves as the seventh film in the successful YRF Spy Universe. The star-studded film also features Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in major roles.
Alpha movie has already faced multiple delays, having been moved from Christmas 2025 to April 2026, then to July 10, and now finally to July 3. The stakes are incredibly high for this film, as the production house wants to ensure a massive hit after their previous project, War 2, disappointed at the box office. While the production house and the main stars have not yet officially confirmed this latest date change, an announcement is expected soon.
