Ameesha Patel's Mumbai home has been robbed. A domestic worker has been arrested in Mumbai for allegedly stealing jewellery worth around ₹5 lakh from the Churchgate residence of actor Ameesha Patel’s parents.

According to a report in NDTV, the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Seema Ghate of Palghar, had been working for Ameesha’s mother, Asha Patel, as a domestic helper for about a year and a half.

The theft came to light after a valuable bangle went missing from the home in January 2026. Asha Patel suspected Ghate and had reportedly spent five to six months asking her to admit to the crime and return the stolen item.

Following a formal complaint by Asha Patel, the Marine Drive police launched an investigation, tracked Ghate to Virar, and took her into custody.

When the bangle was not returned, Asha Patel filed a formal complaint with the Marine Drive police. Authorities initially registered a case against an unidentified woman under Section 306 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

A crime detection team subsequently traced Ghate to Virar and arrested her. She was produced before a court and remanded to police custody until September 15.

Police are investigating the alleged theft and trying to recover the missing bangle. Authorities are also checking the suspect’s criminal history.
