The actress has now made an impressive comeback and is gaining immense love for her grey role in the show Daldal. Bhumi recently came forward to address how she deals with the negativity after being an integral part of the industry for over a decade.

Bhumi Pednekkar has started 2026 on a positive note, as her crime thriller Daldal is garnering great critical acclaim for its chilling storyline. As someone who has played a dark character for the first time in her career, Bhumi shared her excitement about performing such a different role. In a conversation with Hindustan Times, she revealed, "I have been playing leading characters for 10 years and most of them have been very correct. On the moral spectrum, they have always been white. Here, we have whose morality begins in the grey. She lives two lives."

While discussing being undermined, she shared that she never gave the trolls any importance and never felt the urge to respond to negative comments. She said, "Faayda kya hai? Main kisse respond kar rahi hu? (What is the point of this? Who am I responding to?) Who is this person? I don't know their life, their pains. Maybe their life has some shortcomings and I am their collateral damage.”

Amit Raj Gupta directed Daldal is making waves on the digital platform Prime Video. The series is based on Vish Dhamija's best-selling novel Bhendi Bazaar. The plot of the show revolves around DCP Rita Ferreira, the youngest officer to head the Mumbai crime branch. It shows an emotional and exhausting investigation of a brutal serial killer. The show also reflects on Rita's internal conflicts and how she unveils the criminal and resolves her own deep-rooted trauma.
The series features an extensive cast, including Bhumi Pednekkar, Aditya Rawal, Vanita Kharat, Vibhawari Deshpande and others in key roles. Daldal hit the OTT platform Prime Video on January 30, 2026.
