BTS New Album Arirang: Global Kpop sensation BTS are officially set to make a long-awaited comeback after nearly four years. The group has announced that their fifth studio album will be titled ‘ARIRANG’, marking their first full-group release since 2022. The announcement has sent fans worldwide into a frenzy, especially as it comes alongside news of a massive world tour. BigHit Music confirmed the album title through an audio message shared by the members themselves, making the reveal even more special for ARMY.
Members Jin, RM, Suga, Jhope, Jimin, V and Jungkook revealed the album name in a recorded audio clip released by BigHit Music. In the message, RM says, “We are so excited to share our new album Arirang.” The album is scheduled to be released on March 20, 2026, and will feature 14 tracks. According to official details, Arirang will be available in multiple formats, including Korean version, rooted in music version, living legend version, Weverse album version, 7-member version, and standard vinyl editions.
What Does ‘Arirang’ Mean?
The title Arirang carries deep cultural significance in South Korea. Arirang is one of the country’s oldest and most treasured folk songs and is often referred to as Korea’s unofficial national anthem. The song dates back centuries and existed long before it was ever written down. It has no single author and has been passed down orally through generations. Over time, it evolved into many regional versions, shaped by historical moments, emotions, and local traditions rather than one fixed form. By choosing Arirang as their album title, BTS appear to be honouring Korean heritage.
About BTS’ New Album ‘ARIRANG’
While BigHit Music has kept most details under wraps, several things are already confirmed. International pre-orders have gone live via Weverse, although album artwork has not yet been revealed. Retailer Target has also announced exclusive pre-order editions, including 10 vinyl versions and two CD editions featuring collectible photocards Earlier this month, BigHit teased the comeback with a brief post on X that read, “March 20 comeback confirmed.” Though cryptic, it confirmed earlier hints shared in 2025 that BTS would return with a new album in spring 2026.
BTS World Tour 2026–2027
Alongside the album announcement, BTS revealed plans for a 2026-2027 world tour. The tour will begin in South Korea in April 2026 and continue until March 2027, covering more than 70 shows across Asia, North America, South America, Australia and Europe. This will be BTS’ first headline tour since their 2021–22 ‘Permission to Dance on Stage’ concerts.
Meanwhile, BTS’ long break was due to South Korea’s mandatory military service. All seven members completed their duties under the country’s conscription law. Jin enlisted first in 2022 and was discharged in June 2024, while Suga completed his service as a social service agent in June 2025. The remaining members served in the army.
