South Korean superstar and BTS leader Kim Nam-joon has achieved another significant milestone in his career. The rapper and songwriter has been appointed as the first-ever Global Public Relations Ambassador of the National Museum of Korea, a role that perfectly reflects his deep appreciation for art, history and cultural heritage.
The museum officially announced the partnership on social media, marking the beginning of a new chapter with RM as its inaugural global ambassador.
To celebrate the appointment, RM visited the museum on June 19 alongside director You Hong-jun. During the visit, he explored several exhibitions, including Amazing Thailand: Masterpieces of Thai Art and Kim Hongdo: Painting His Era.
Over the years, RM has frequently expressed his admiration for Korean art, museums and cultural preservation. His new role highlights his ongoing commitment to promoting and preserving Korea’s rich artistic heritage on a global stage.
As the museum’s first global ambassador, RM will help showcase Korea’s rich cultural heritage to international audiences. Through the partnership, the National Museum of Korea aims to make Korean art, history and traditions more accessible while inspiring greater global appreciation for Korean culture.
Running until February 2027, the exhibition will feature nearly 200 artworks, including pieces from RM’s personal collection as well as works from the museum’s archives. The showcase offers visitors a unique glimpse into the artistic influences and interests of one of the world’s most renowned musicians.
