Dacoit New Release Date: The wait for the highly anticipated action-romance Dacoit: A Love Story will be slightly longer than expected. Starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, the film was originally scheduled to hit cinemas on March 19, 2026. However, the makers have now officially moved the release date to April 10, 2026. Dacoit movie is now set to face strong box office clash with Akshay Kumar's Bhooth Bangla.
Why Was Dacoit Postponed?
The decision to push back the release was made to ensure the film has a clear run at the box office. Initially, the movie was set to launch during the busy Ugadi festival period. This would have seen it clash with several big-budget titles, including Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge and the much-hyped Toxic starring Yash. Adivi Sesh confirmed on social media, which read, “Goldfish on April 10. In Theatres Worldwide.”
About Dacoit Movie
Dacoit marks the directorial debut of Shaneil Deo. The story, written by Adivi Sesh himself, is a bilingual project shot in Hindi and Telugu. It is described as an intense action-romantic thriller built around a gritty revenge plot. The narrative follows a furious convict who seeks vengeance against his former lover. Fans are particularly excited to see the fresh pairing of Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, who recently released a romantic track titled ‘Rubaroo’ that has already become a hit.
Adding to the excitement is a powerful ensemble cast. Acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Kashyap plays a significant role as a police officer. The film also features veteran actors such as Prakash Raj, Sunil, and Atul Kulkarni in pivotal roles. Interestingly, the role now played by Mrunal Thakur was originally meant for Shruti Haasan, who reportedly left the project due to creative differences.
Dacoit vs Bhooth Bangla
Bhooth Bangla is produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, Cape of Good Films and Balaji Telefilms Ltd. Apart from Akshay Kumar, the film also stars Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav and Wamiqa Gabbi in key roles. The film is also set to release in theatres on April 10, 2026.
