The case, filed by filmmaker Santosh Kumar, involved repeated allegations related to the film. The court’s interim order now restricts further claims, bringing temporary relief to Dhar while the matter continues legally.
Dhurandhar 2 Script Copy Controversy
The controversy began when Karnataka-based film director Santosh Kumar RS accused Aditya Dhar of copying his story for Dhurandhar 2. The filmmaker repeatedly claimed that the storyline used in the film was taken from his original work without permission. He had given his script to many big production houses, including Sony Pictures, Zee Studios, T-series and Dharma Productions. Dhurandhar 2 performed well at the box office, which further intensified the dispute.
Court Grants Interim Relief To Aditya Dhar
In response to the repeated accusations, Aditya Dhar approached the court, stating that the allegations were defamatory and damaging to his professional reputation. He argued that such claims, when repeated publicly, could harm his credibility in the film industry.
The Bombay High Court, under Justice Arif Doctor, passed an interim order on Wednesday. The court observed that Dhar had made a valid initial case and deserved temporary protection. It directed Santosh Kumar to refrain from repeating any allegations related to script copying or making similar statements until further hearings.
Next Hearing Date Announced
The court has scheduled the next hearing for April 16. Until then, the restrictions imposed by the court will remain in effect. The case will continue to be reviewed based on further arguments and evidence presented by both parties.
