While director Aditya Dhar and star Ranveer Singh are celebrating the film's entry into the Rs 1,000 crore club, an unexpected controversy has surfaced involving Anas Saifi, the mystery man often seen with viral sensation Chandrika Dixit (popularly known as the Vada Pav Girl).
In a video that has gone viral across social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, Anas Saifi expressed his deep disappointment after watching the final cut of the film. He claimed that he had shot for several days alongside heavyweights like Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Dutt, only to find his contributions missing from the theatrical release.
Anas Saifi alleged that he originally had six significant scenes in the movie. He even suggested that while his visuals were removed, his voice could still be heard in one of the song sequences. Hinting at a possible personal grudge, he questioned if his well-known association with Chandrika Dixit led the makers to ghost him. "The director, Aditya Dhar... I don’t know what enmity he has with me. I don't know why he cut all my scenes in the film," Saifi said in his emotional video.
The internet, however, has treated the claim more as a comedy than a controversy. Netizens were quick to troll Saifi, with many suggesting that his "missing" role was likely that of a background extra. One user jokingly remarked, "He must have played the role of a waiter there; will Aditya show a waiter in the movie now?" while another commented on the absurdity of a newcomer accusing a National Award-winning director of jealousy, writing, "Jealous? And that too because of Chandrika? Does he not know Aditya Dhar's wife is Yami Gautam?"

While Anas Saifi claims to have proof of his presence on set, the film’s massive four-hour runtime had already been trimmed by approximately six minutes for its domestic release due to CBFC mandates and pacing, which often results in minor roles being cut.
