Varun Dhawan is gearing up for the release of Border 2, co-starring Sunny Deol. Following this, his upcoming projects have been creating a buzz and have been surrounded by speculation. Several reports suggested that he might be a part of Luka Chuppi 2 with Sharvari. A follow-up to the 2019 romantic comedy, which starred Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon. During a fan interaction session, Varun has cleared the air, stating that he is not doing a sequel to any other film at the moment.

On Tuesday, Varun Dhawan conducted a fan interaction session on X, where he spoke about his upcoming film and addressed the speculation surrounding Luka Chuppi 2. When a user asked about his upcoming films after Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, Varun stated, “Not signed any film. There is no sequel of any other film I’m doing. Will decide."

Varun's reaction comes months after reports claiming that Luka Chuppi 2, featuring Varun and Sharvari, was expected to enter pre-production in early 2026. Recently, Mid Day reported that the project had already been delayed by 6-8 months, leaving fans disappointed by the update.

Meanwhile, Varun plays the role of Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya in Border 2. The film is a spiritual sequel to the cult classic 1997 war film Border and is set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak War.

Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 also features Diljit Dosanjh, Sunny Deol, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh and Medha Rana in pivotal roles. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 23, 2026, coinciding with Republic Day weekend, setting the stage for a patriotic cinematic experience. It is presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series, in association with J.P. Dutta’s J.P. Films. The producers list includes Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta.

Apart from Border 2, Varun also has Bhediya 2, co-starring Kriti Sanon, in the pipeline. He will also be seen in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, directed by David Dhawan. The movie also stars Mrunal Thakur, Pooja Hegde, Mouni Roy, Kubbra Sait, Maniesh Paul, and many others. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on 5th June 2026.
